Day 1: Australia’s Great Barrier Reef Experience
Travel to the Outer Great Barrier Reef onboard ‘Reef Experience’ and spend the day relaxing, snorkelling, scuba diving and glass bottom boat touring amongst nature’s coral paradise.
Day 2: Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Beach
Let’s go, Cape Tribbin! It’s time to head north to Daintree and Cape Tribulation.
So grab your hat, sunnies and some swimming gear and let’s hit the road.
This tour gives you the maximum time to enjoy beautiful Cape Tribulation.
Visit ancient rainforests, swim in pristine creeks, laze on tropical beaches and search for saltwater crocodiles! We have shared rainforest and waterfall experiences with amazing people for over two decades. The combination of music, food, fun and breathtaking natural history has made us who we are. Our drivers are excited to host you on this tour because they love showing off their backyard.
Itinerary
Great Barrier Reef Experience Itinerary
- 07:30 – Board Reef Experience vessel at the Marlin Jetty, Cairns
- 08:00 – Departure Marlin Jetty for the trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef
- 08:30 – Tropical breakfast served on the way out to the Outer Reef, followed later by morning tea. On the way, a detailed dive and snorkelling briefing will be given
- 09:30 – Arrive at our first spectacular reef site, snorkel and scuba dive with thousands of vivid tropical fish, giant clams, turtles, moray eels and huge Cod. Time for your guided snorkel and dive
- 10:30 – Glass Bottom Boat tour (approximately a 20-minute tour)
- 12:30 – Lunch
- 13:00 – Cruise to our second location to explore forests of coral, large sea fans and black coral trees in its shallow lagoons
- 15:00 – Depart the Great Barrier Reef
- 15:30 – Glass of wine, tropical fruits, cheese and biscuits
- 16:30 – Arrive back in Cairns
Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest Tour Highlights and Itinerary
Get ready for a day of FUN!
- Port Douglas: A stop for a walk and swim at the famous 4-mile beach, enjoy some morning tea and get to know each other!
- Crocs!: On the way there or the way back (depending on the tides), we look for the famous and scary saltwater crocodiles in the wild!
- Rare Wildlife and Daintree Rainforest: We cross the Daintree River on the ferry, then hit the wild side of the road and drive through some of the oldest rainforests in the world!
- No time to mess around….let’s try and find a cassowary (dinosaur bird….very rare but very possible).
Lunch and Beach Time: Grab some food and head for the beach….free time is on the cards! - Swimming: After lunch, you will have the chance to enjoy a swim in tropical freshwater streams!!!
- Beautiful Lookouts: Time to head home via two beautiful lookouts and enjoy some tunes as we head back into civilisation.

Important Information for Scuba Diving
We are passionate about showing you Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, so please ensure you understand the scuba diving laws.
Queensland, Australia, has some of the strictest scuba diving rules in the world but also the safest scuba diving record. We are regulated by the Queensland Government Code of Practice and comply with all rules, including medical, as is the law.
To avoid disappointment on your day of travel, we strongly recommend that all of our passengers complete our dive medical questionnaire before booking, as some medical conditions, age and/or medications may prevent you from scuba diving. Our mission is always to provide our passengers with the best Great Barrier Reef experience.

Flying after Scuba Diving
For a single, no decompression scuba dive, you should not fly or go to altitude for at least 18 hours after a scuba dive. You should not fly for 24 hours after your last dive for multiple dives.
If you are Skydiving or Hot Air Ballooning, you must wait 24 hours after diving.
We recommend waiting a minimum of 24 hours whenever possible.
